As we've seen during this year's March Madness, it's not always the size of a school that matters the most. Just ask Duke about Mercer. Well, size also is not an advantage for the Healthsport Gymnastics team in Fortuna. But as News Channel 3's Chet Davis explains. Even though the group may be not the biggest in numbers, it has grown in size.

A McKinleyille High School senior is getting the opportunity to play two sports at the college level.
Tori Laidlaw on Wednesday night signed a national letter of intent to attend William Jessup university in the fall.

Chris Cherms will continue to stop shots in front of the net just a short distance from the Arcata High School campus. 
The Tigers senior captain Tuesday night signed a letter of intent to play next season at Humboldt State. 
Cherms was a four-year member of the Arcata soccer program. All four years they reached the North Coast Section playoffs.

Brandon White plays football and basketball for St. Bernard's, but not that's not what got him chosen as the Athlete of the Week.  As News Channel Three's Chet Davis shows us, it's what White does on the racetrack that sets him apart.

He lost his second match by pin in the third round to #2 ranked Bryce Martin. 

The Eureka senior won this third match by a score of 3-2 over Myles Lenover but lost fourth and final match to Edgar Segura.
