CRESCENT CITY- Part of 2nd Street in Crescent City is closed while construction crews make improvements to the sewer system. Crews are working to replace old 18-inch clay pipes with 24-inch plastic pipes. According to city officials clay pipe is brittle and has a shorter life span. To fund the project, the city of Crescent City got a $1.3 million dollars from the Community Development Block Grant.
Crews estimate work to be completed by the end of February.
