ARCATA- An estimated 12,000 people are estimated to have attended Saturday's Oyster Festival. The annual event is one of the busiest in Humboldt County, bringing locals and out of town guests alike.
At the event, only three arrests were made by the Arcata Police Department. One for DUI, one for public intoxication and another for a fight.
Project Manager, Debi Farber Bush with Greenway Partner's said the event grew this year because of the focus on local products and food.
Bush said she feels the event rebuilt the relationship between Arcata Main Street and downtown businesses after last years festival
