24-year-old Rio Dell woman killed in two car crash

SOUTHERN HUMBOLDT- A two car accident has killed a 24-year-old Rio Dell woman and injured two others, including a 3-year-old.

The Humboldt County Coroner's Office has released the name as the victim as Hannah Denise Baker. She was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Suburban with a 3-year-old passenger. D. Lockhart, 48, of Weott, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado.

The accident happened at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. According to the California Highway Patrol Lockhart was traveling south on highway 101 just north of Garberville. For reasons still under investigation the Silverado crossed the center divide and collided with the Suburban, which was traveling north.

Baker was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead at Jerold Phelps Community Hospital.

According to CHP all were wearing seat belts and air bags were deployed. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor. The accident remains under investigation by CHP.
