$25K, firearms and marijuana seized from Arcata properties
ARCATA- The Arcata Police Department has busted an alleged indoor marijuana grow. Police reportedly found marijuana, firearms and cash, plus a home using excessive amounts of electricity.
A search warrant was served on the 3200 block of Spear Avenue Wednesday morning and at two other locations in Arcata.
One suspect, Gary Goddard, 52, was arrested for Cultivation and Sales of Marijuana associated with the three properties.
The alleged grow took place on the unattached garage and in a mobile home on the Spear Avenue property. Officers reportedly found 1,000 marijuana plants and 20 pounds of processed marijuana. Two trucks and a two motorcycles were seized from the location. The property was using 20 times the amount of electricity than the average family home.
The investigation led officers to two additional locations. The second property, also on Spear, allegedly had $25,000, three handguns and three rifles. The items were seized along with a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
At the third location on the 100 block of F Street a 150 kilowatt generator was seized.
