4.1 earthquake hits the North Coast, second within one week
NORTH COAST- A 4.1 earthquake hit the North Coast early Tuesday morning and it is the second quake within a one week period that has reached a 4.1 magnitude or higher.
According to the USGS the quake hit just 28 miles west of Ferndale and 39 miles west southwest of Eureka. It was originally reported as a magnitude 4.3 quake and then downgraded shortly after. Last Tuesday a similar size quake hit 17 miles west northwest of Ferndale.
