Active parolee arrested on multiple charges in Eureka

EUREKA:   A routine traffic stop sent a man on active probation to jail after police found numerous weapons.

Around 1:30 this afternoon, an officer with the Eureka Police Department observed a man driving west bound near Henderson and California Streets. The driver was talking on a cell phone. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found the driver, 33-year old Nathan Ryan Burgoon driving with a suspended license and on active probation. In searching the vehicle, a bag was found containing seven handguns. Burgoon was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County jail for driving on a suspended license, violation of parole and a felon in possession of a firearm.
