Alderpoint murder suspect sentenced after changing plea to "guilty"
EUREKA-- A fifteen years to life in prison sentence was handed down Thursday to Anthony Lane after changing his plea in a homicide case to “guilty.”
Lane is the suspect in the murder of 57-year-old Walter Craig Jr. at his home in the 3700 block of Rancho Sequoia Drive in Alderpoint in late June. The 38-year-old was arrested for the homicide at a Willits motel after fleeing the scene in the victim’s black Jeep Cherokee. He had originally pleaded not guilty to the charges against him on July first.
Thursday’s court session was not scheduled as sentencing, but instead a pre-trial conference. The reason behind the homicide is still unclear.
