An observant citizen helped out Sheriff’s deputies a little after 1 am this morning. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a concerned Field’s Landing resident that a possible burglary was in the process at an unoccupied apartment being remodeled. When Sheriff’s deputies arrived, they noticed two doors were forced open. Upon further investigation, they found a man hiding in the bushes with a hood over his head, gloves on his hands and a mask next to him on the ground. When questioned, the man denied taking anything from the apartment although he admitted jumping out of the apartment window.
The male was identified as David Allen Tatro, 41 years old from Fields Landing. Tatro was arrested for burglary and possession of burglary tools. He was transported and booked into the Humboldt County Jail and bail was set at 50-thousand dollars.
