Animal Shelter full after 4th fireworks

MCKINLEYVILLE- The Humboldt County Animal Shelter is almost full to capacity after the 4th of July holiday weekend.

Since fireworks went on sale a total of 33 dogs, four puppies, five cats and eight kittens have come into the shelter. Animal Shelter employees said that is more than last year.

On Monday, before noon, a total of five animals had been reunited with their owners.

Animal Control Office, Andre Hale, said pet owners should check their website, for their animals or call the shelter and leave a message.
