On Friday, August 1 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. there will be training scenarios taking place near Commercial and 4th streets in Eureka. The scenarios are part of the College of the Redwoods Crime Scene Investigators Course:    

APD Needs Information in Homecoming Stabbing Case

Arcata Police need help in identifying a person of interest in the case that resulted in two Humboldt State University students being stabbed after leaving a party following Homecoming. Arcata Police believe that the man in the photo may have critical information in the case.

 

Detectives in the case have had a hard time having witnesses come forward in the case.
 

Police responded to the scene at 2 a.m. September 29 after hearing reports that  a fight broke out outside a party on the 1500 block of Stromberg Avenue. Two Humboldt State students were taken to Mad River Hospital, one with multiple stab wounds. Both students underwent emergency surgery as a result.

 

The case is still ongoing and Arcata Police are receiving assistance from the University Police Department. Police encourage anyone who knows the man in the photo to call Detective Chris Ortega at 822-2428. Police said he has critical information in the case.
