Arcata Chamber of Commerce honors businesses at annual meeting
The Arcata Chamber of Commerce celebrated business tonight at their annual chamber dinner.
There was a capacity audience of over three hundred chamber members, business owners, friends and family celebrating and recognizing several categories of businesses from business person of the year to green business of the year.
Newly elected Chamber President, Rick Levin said from last year to this year there has been an increase in membership of the chamber by over fifty percent. He felt it was due to the diverse interesting community that makes up the city of Arcata. Others cited a thriving business environment. No matter what the reason, there is some serious business energy happening in Arcata and this dinner celebrated it all.
“Business Leader of the Year” was Doug Shaw from Mad River Hospital. The “Special Commendation Outreach Award” was given to Rollin Richmond, President of HSU. “Business of the Year” was the North Coast Coop and “The City of Arcata Award” went to Snap Fan.
