Arcata resident, Chris Lehman will run for California State Senate Second district for the November 2014 election. Lehman, a democrat, has worked in the State Senate for more than fifteen years and announced his candidacy after incumbent Senator Noreen Evans said she would not be running for re-election.
In Arcata, Tuesday, Lehman said education, health care and the environment would be the most important issues in his candidacy.
Lehman was born on the North Coast and moved with his wife to raise their family in Arcata in 2005. Lehman has worked on the campaigns of Proposition 29 to tax tobacco, and Proposition 29 that modifies out of state taxes on corporations.
Locally, Lehman worked to pass Measure Q, a bond to upgrade schools in Humboldt County.
Lehman has received support from Assembly member Wesley Chesbro and Humboldt County Board of Supervisor, Mark Lovelace.
