The Arcata Police Department has not identified the suspect in Thursday's shooting and continue to look for the victim.
Detective Chris Ortega of the Arcata Police Department said the investigation is ongoing. He said the department is piecing together information from witnesses and the community on the identity of the suspect. He also said the department is following up on multiple leads.
The suspect, a pedestrian, was seen arguing with a driver on H and 15th Street, before he fired multiple shots at the car as it drove away. The condition of the driver is still unknown. The suspect used a black semi automatic handgun in the shooting.
