Arcata staff directed to pursue funding for second industrial park
ARCATA- The Arcata City Council has directed staff to apply for a $100,000 grant from the state to help fund the development of an industrial park. The money will go toward converting 20 acres of logging land into a parceled industrial park.
The property is located off West End Road and will be turned into a business condominium similar to the Aldergrove Industrial Park that is the home to several Arcata businesses.
The city has set aside $2 million for the project. The proposal will be sent to the State Department of Housing and Community Development. The city hopes to finish the project in the next year.
