EUREKA – A Eureka gas station was robbed at gunpoint Monday morning, and police say the crime is similar to one at almost the same time a week before.

According to Eureka Police, a man wearing a bandana over his face entered the Shell Gas Station on the 3500 block of Broadway around 3:20 Monday morning.

He allegedly brandished a small semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash the suspect fled on a BMX style bike toward Highland Park.

Police responded within minutes but were unable to locate the suspect. No further description was provided.

EPD said a clerk at a Patriot gave a similar account last Monday after a man robbed that gas station then fled on a bike.

Eureka Police continue to investigate both incidents.
