Army Corps of Engineers lifts suspension on Willits Bypass Project
WILLITS- The Army Corps of Engineers has decided to lift the conditional suspension they put on permits for the Willits Bypass Project last month.
The announcement comes after Caltrans committed to accelerating work on mitigation for the Willits Bypass Project, as well as creating an additional mitigation plan that the Army Corps of Engineers requested. Caltrans was originally going to suspend work earlier this week, but met with Army Corps of Engineers officials on Tuesday to discuss plans for meeting the Corps’ updated requirements. Caltrans officials still expect to have traffic on the Willits Bypass by the fall of 2016, now that the suspension has been lifted.
