Attempted robbery in McKinleyville, victim threatened with pepper spray
MCKINLEYVILLE- A man threatened to pepper spray another man in the Kmart parking lot in Mckinleyville. Just before 1:30 Monday afternoon, Arcata police say a couple in their car were approached by another man and woman who demanded money and threatened to pepper spray the male victim.
The victims said they recognized the alleged robbers as Lance Andrew Borgner and Christina Ann Higgins, parolees known to law enforcement. The male victim said he didn’t have any money but invited the alleged robbers to follow him to a bank where he could get it. As the alleged accomplice opened the door to get in, the driver sped off. The robbers chased the victims in their car to the Guintoli Lane area of Arcata where Borgner allegedly rammed the victim’s vehicle causing it to leave the roadway. The victims made their way back onto the roadway and drove to the Arcata Police Department.
Borgner was allegedly driving a late 1980’s white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with an unknown license plate. He is described as a white male with brown hair and hazel eyes and around 190 lbs with tattoos on his neck and shoulder. Higgins is a white female around 140 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.
