Autopsy to be performed Saturday for man killed in EPD officer-involved shooting
EUREKA- An autopsy will be performed on Saturday for the man killed in last week’s officer-involved shooting.
Twenty-two-year-old Eureka resident Thomas McClain was fatally shot by an officer with the Eureka Police Department on September 17th on the 1600 block of Allard Avenue. Police say McClain grabbed for what appeared to be a handgun before he was shot.
A Humboldt County Deputy Coroner says the forensic pathologist the coroner’s office uses is from out of the area, and was not available to perform the autopsy until Saturday. The results will be given to each agency in the county’s Critical Incident Response Team before being released to the public.
