Aviation Advisory Committee looks towards air freight study
EUREKA- A local airfreight hub could be in the future for Humboldt County. In a presentation at the supervisors meeting Tuesday, the Humboldt County Aviation Advisory Committee vocalized their intent to pursue funding for a freight study.
The study would look at how much freight is moving in and out of the county, and other factors. From that, they would consider whether making an airport a hub for freight would be beneficial to local economy.
The committee brought the study before the Humboldt County Association of Governments earlier this year, but did not receive the competitive state grant. They will apply again for funding early next year.
