Best of Humboldt Fair festivities continue in Eureka
EUREKA- The Best of Humboldt Fair continued Friday at Redwood Acres with stock car races and quad wars. But those weren’t the only events at the fair worth noting.
"We have Nature Joe, we have Thank a Farmer, we have a Nascar simulator,” said Redwood Acres CEO Cindy Bedingfield. “Live music, we have local bands, we have food and we have beer.”
Along with those activities, visitors to the fair can watch BMX bikers perform high-risk freestyle stunts or get a thrill first hand on one of the many carnival rides. But if that isn’t enough of a thrill, visitors can walk on the wild side and pet exotic animals like a baby tiger and a baby kangaroo.
The fair also offers timeless fair food favorites like funnel cake and hot pretzels. But also has some healthy options. This year the fair asked all of the vendors to offer one healthy option for visitors.
“We have some grilled chicken salads and grilled chicken sandwiches,” Bedingfield said. “I'm not sure what everyone offered but fried breads even offered a tiny fried bread, so you can get your fix without all of the calories.”
Once you're full on fair food, you can relax and take a hay ride tour through the fair or catch a pirate parrot show. With everything there is to do, fair officials say you might want to come back tomorrow
