CRESCENT CITY- A big rig crash shuts down Highway 199 after the rig overturned, spilling lumber across the road. It happened around 8:45AM this morning, just North of Patrick’s Creek.
The driver, 63-year old Robert Switzler of Crescent City was driving northbound on Highway 199 at unknown speeds. California Highway Patrol Officers say that he was going through a curve when the load shifted, causing the truck and the trailer to overturn and completely block the southbound lane. The driver suffered minor injuries.
Both lanes were shut down for 20 minutes while crews attempted to lift the truck upright.
Do you think the Samoa development project should move forward?
