Big Sexual Predator Compliance Sweep By Law Enforcement
Law enforcement officials wrapped up a huge sexual predator compliance sweep in Humboldt County.
Teams from Eureka and Arcata Police, Sheriff’s Deputies, Humboldt County Probation Department, The District Attorney’s Office and the US Marshall’s Office have been confirming addresses of all sex registrants in the county since March. Registrants are required to update annually in person and inform law enforcement of any changes to their residential address. Failure to do so is a crime.
To date, 327 registrant’s information has been checked by law enforcement. 271 were found to be in compliance, 27 out of compliance, 10 were currently in custody, 14 were unable to be contacted at the residence listed and 3 provided residences that could not be found. 3 were also found to be deceased.
