Blue Lake to keep ban on medical marijuana despensaries
BLUE LAKE- The City of Blue Lake's ban on medical marijuana dispensaries will stay in place. A group looking to build a virtual dispensary' within city limits has been notified that the council has voted not to change the ordinance.
MCFM group was looking to base their business offices in town, potentially bringing more revenue to the city. The group told the city that most of the marijuana would be shipped out of Garberville.
At Wednesday's council meeting, the city took no action on the ordinance, meaning it will remain as is. In march, the council passed the ban in the hopes of limiting the city's liabilities associated with dispensaries.
