Board of Supervisors to discuss McKinleyville litigation
EUREKA- A civil case against Humboldt County could come to a close on Tuesday. The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors will in a closed session to go over litigation that started in 2010. The McKinleyville Community Services District filed a lawsuit against Humboldt County in response to the 2010 Housing Element.
“They were concerned after the 2010 housing element that the number of housing units allotted to the McKinleyville area were going to have an impact on their services,” said 2nd District Supervisor Estelle Fennell. “We've been working on back and forth with them and that’s what we'll be talking about in closed session- very hopeful that what comes out of the time having passed would mean that we will be able to settle things.”
Because of the closed session, officials also say that the public comment portion of the meeting will be moved to 9 am.
