EUREKA - Humboldt Bay is a cold place to be if you’re not a fish. A woman rowing in the water near Woodley Island this morning found that out.
The Coast Guard received a call at approximately 9:57 a.m. reporting a boater had capsized their boat and was hanging on the side. First responders were the Port Authority. They quickly got the cold and slightly scratched up woman out of the water and into warm survival gear. By 10:20 a.m. the rowing skull was pulled aboard as well. Rower and Boat were soon deposited on the pier at the Adorni Center safe…but just a little damp. Port Authority personnel helped get the boat back to the skull storage area. The woman involved in the incident requested not to talk with News Channel 3 about her experience.
With the recent walk aways, should the Sheriff's Office continue it's inmate work crew program?
