EUREKA- Convicted for double murder and attempted murder, Bodhi Tree, will spend the rest of his life in prison, serving a combined sentence of 105 years.

Tree was sentenced by a Humboldt County Superior Court judge Friday afternoon in a packed courtroom. Family members of the two killed spoke in court as family members and friends cried.

Presiding Judge Dale Reinholtsen said Tree showed no remorse.

Family and friends of both victims were in the courtroom. Tree shot and killed Alan "Sunshine" Marcet and Christina Schwarz last year in May at a home in Arcata. He also shot and wounded Rhett August at his home in Eureka a few days prior.

The victim's family said they were glad he would not victimize anyone else. They are criticizing realignment and are calling on state legislators to change the way they convict and release criminals with mental illness.

Tree was released from prison before the shootings.
