A man's body was recovered floating in Humboldt Bay off Commercial Street in Eureka Monday afternoon. Officials said the man's identity is known, but are not releasing the name.
Sgt. Goodale of the Eureka Police Department said the man is in his late 40s or early 50s and appeared to be a fisherman. They did not know how long the man's body was in the water.
The Humboldt County Coroner's office responded on scene and said there is no evidence of foul play at this time. The Coroner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of the man's death.
