EUREKA- A man's body discovered near Eureka's Indian Island on Tuesday has been positively identified. The Humboldt County Coroner's Office is withholding his name until next to kin is notified. However, they do say the man is 57 years old.
The coroner was able to identify the man by running his finger prints through the sheriff's latent print system. With that they were able to find a match and a booking photo from a previous arrest. The office is still working to find out where the man is from and where he was living at the time.
The coroner says there were no signs of foul play. An autopsy to determine cause of death is scheduled for Friday at 1:30 p.m.
