Breast cancer awareness tow truck stolen, set on fire

HOOPA - A pink breast cancer awareness tow truck was stolen by two armed men and later set on fire in Eastern Humboldt.

At around 3:30 Wednesday morning the Buddy’s Auto Center tow truck was returning from Orleans with a customer along with his two dogs and a Dodge Ram Truck. They were traveling on State Route 96 when they came across a chainsaw in the roadway. When they stopped to remove the chainsaw, two masked men came out of the bushes with rifles. They took off in the tow truck with the dogs still inside.  The truck was later set on fire and located on Mill Creek Road at around 8:00 by the Forest Service. The dogs were found safe but the tow truck was badly damaged.

Anyone with information is asked to call law enforcement.
