Calfire working to reduce wildland fires in Cutten
HUMBOLDT COUNTY- Calfire is working to develop a shaded fuel break to reduce the risk of wildland fires. Crews will be focusing on Walnut Drive in the Cutten area of Eureka.
A shaded fuel break is a strip of land where fuel like trees, brush, or dead branches, has been reduced to limit the spread of wildfires to nearby homes. In addition, the State Responisitbily Fee (SRA) supports part of the funding for the project. The SRA fee is a $150.00 fee paid by homeowners in Calfire territory.
Calfire officials expect work to start the week of Monday, April 14th.
