Caltrans Closes Part of Avenue of the Giants Highway
A repair project will close part of Highway 254, the Avenue of the Giants beginning today. Caltrans announced the repairs of a drainage pipe near the High Rock Conservation Camp, between Weott and Redcrest, would require a full road closure. Work is necessary to fix the pipe, which crosses both lanes of the highway. The closure is expected to last through 3:30 PM Friday, October 4th weather permitting. Businesses in Redcrest and Weott will remain open and accessible during the closure. A detour will be available by using Highway 101 from the South Fork/Honeydew Exit (Exit 663) to the Redcrest exit (Exit 667). Caltrans asks travelers to use caution when driving through the area and to slow down for the cone zone.
