RIO DELL - If you desired a candy cane today and wanting to enjoy the holiday spirit, Rio Dell was the place to be.
The volunteer fire department continued an over eighteen year tradition of handing out candy canes to neighborhoods around the area.
It’s an annual event that is twofold. It is a timely holiday tradition but it also is a way of introducing the streets and roads around Rio Dell to new fire fighters who may not know the region as well.
Lastly, it’s a family affair. Everyone loads up on the big trucks and passes on the holiday cheer.
