Chet Albin sworn in as Ward 5 Eureka City Councilmember
EUREKA- Eureka has a new City Councilman; Chet Albin took the Oath of Office on Tuesday for the Ward 5 Eureka Council seat.
Albin replaces Lance Madsen who resigned in October citing health reasons. Madsen was first elected to the council in 1990 and served 8 years. He came back in 2010 for another term and was set to serve until November of 2014. The council decided to bypass a special election and opened up applications to appoint someone. Albin became the choice candidate after going through a committee and several interviews. He says he’s excited to join the team. Albin added, "There's a lot of stuff going on here and there's a very good council here… A lot of experience, and a lot of experience on the council. I'm just looking forward to working with them and learning as much information as I can from them and from the staff."
