NORTH COAST- The California Highway Patrol’s maximum enforcement period proved to be a success according to the CHP. The enforcement period began at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and lasted until midnight Christmas day. Officers said in that time period one DUI arrest was made, and five property damage collisions were reported. Officers said while out on the road they are looking for violations that may result in a d-u-i crash and believe if they can cut down on those violations, they can save lives.
CHP will also be conducting another maximum enforcement period starting at 6 p.m. New Years Eve to midnight New Years day.
