City of Brookings to close Chetco Park for extended period
Brookings, Oregon - A landmark park and tourist attraction in Brookings is set to close for an extended period of time.
Chetco Park, blessed with one of the most spectacular vistas on the west coast will be closing down from Monday, June 23 through Friday, October 17 for major construction stabilizing a wastewater treatment plant slope project. The work is necessary to protect the treatment plant from a slow moving slide.
The park will be closed throughout the project with temporary fencing as excavation with heavy equipment and extensive job materials poses trip and fall hazards. Anyone with questions on the project should direct them to: Ray Page, Treatment Plant Supervisor at 541-469-1181.
