Coast Guard crew honored for life saving efforts

HUMBOLDT- Members of Coast Guard Station Humboldt Bay will be honored Thursday night at a ceremony in New York City.

The crew of Motor Life Boat 47212 are being honored at the Coast Guard Foundation’s 34th Annual Salute to the U.S. Coast Guard. Petty Officers 2nd Class Victoria Hansen and Louis Ciccoli, along with Seamen Jacob Roberbs and Noah Perry will receive the 2014 Coast Guard Foundation Award.

The award honors their heroic rescue of two mariners from Humboldt Bay last May. The crew saved the two boaters after their craft capsized in the icy waters.
