EUREKA- Humboldt Bay Fire crews battled a 3-alarm blaze on Coast Guard Street around 5 a.m. Sunday morning. The building that caught fire is a 2,000 square foot Coast Guard storage unit. When fire crews arrived on scene, about 25 percent of the building was fully engulfed in flames. No one was inside the building at the time, however fire officials say they came across some obstacles when trying to contain the blaze. It took about two hours to put the fire out. The building suffered extensive damaged to the attic and is nearly a total loss. Fire officials also believe the blaze is not suspicious, the cause remains under investigation.
