EUREKA- Over a hundred members of the community packed into the Turf Club at Redwood Acres to come together to deal with methamphetamine abuse and addiction in Humboldt County. Thursday's meeting was the start of the discussion of what those attending said is serious problem.

Community members from healthcare, law enforcement and education attended the meeting. Several members of the audience said they had seen methamphetamine abuse grow in the area, and contribute to increase crime and violence.

Today's meeting was the beginning, said organizers. After the introduction those in attendance broke up into groups that deal with different components on the topic from legislation to law enforcement.
