Congressman Huffman hosts Veterans’ town hall meetings
NORTH COAST - As part of a North Coast visit, Congressman Jared Huffman is holding two town hall meetings on Veterans’ health care and benefits.
The first of the two meetings is Friday night at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Crescent City. The second will be held Saturday in Eureka’s Veterans’ Memorial Hall at 10 a.m. In addition to the Congressman, other healthcare officials and administrators of veteran’s benefits will be on hand to answer questions and discuss issues. They will also address the recent Choice Act Legislation and Non-VA Care Program.
“There's been some changes in federal policy with the VA over the last year or so and we want to make sure they know about them and we help through these town halls put them in touch with representatives from the VA that can help connect them to services. My office helps with veteran disability claims and other things that folks have trouble with so we just always try to touch base with our veterans and see how we can help them,” Congressman Huffman explained.
