Crescent City - A county jury came to a decision regarding a burglary that took place in Lake Earl this year. Despite the witness passing away before the trial the court was able to convict the suspects. Donald Webb has been found guilty of first-degree residential burglary with special allegation of having a victim present and resisting arrest.
Webb and another man broke in to the home of an elderly woman in January. During the incident, the woman confronted the two males with a gun and they fled.
When law enforcement caught up with them, they found items taken from the victim’s home. The other suspect plead guilty before the trial.
The elderly woman was home bound at the time of the incident. She has since passed away, but not before giving her statement. The court came to her living room to get her statement as if she was on the stand for the trial.
