Coroner releases name of 14-year-old Eureka homicide victim
EUREKA- As the investigation continues into the death of a 14-year-old Arcata boy last week, on Monday, the coroner’s office has released the name of the deceased as Jesus Joani Garcia-Romero.
On Saturday, a forensic autopsy was conducted on his body but the coroner has chosen not to release the cause of death due to the ongoing investigation.
The boy was found unconscious with visible wounds to his torso on the 2300 block of 15th street in eureka last Wednesday. He later died at St. Joseph hospital.
According to the Eureka Police Department, the investigation is progressing but no suspects have been identified at this time.
