BLUE LAKE- With reduced revenue and increased expenses hitting the community, the Blue Lake City Council is considering increasing taxes to balance the city's General Plan budget.
The council is considering putting a tax on the ballot for the upcoming November election. The council will decide Tuesday night what type of tax will try to pass. Mayor, Sherman Schapiro said the council could pass a utility, parcel or sales tax.
Schapiro said the increase is needed to help fund public safety and Parks and Recreation programs.
In order to pass the tax, residents would have to approve it as a ballot measure
