The Humboldt County Economic Development Team is inviting the public to a meeting. It will be held in the Prosperity Center at 520 E Street in Eureka at 6 pm this Thursday, December 19th.
On the agenda for discussion, is the Brownfield’s Program which is the expansion, redevelopment or reuse of property that may be complicated by the presence of hazardous substance, pollutants or contaminants. Cleaning up and reinvesting in these properties protects the environment, reduces blight and takes development pressures off green spaces and working lands.
One topic to discuss is a draft analysis of cleanup alternatives for the former Louisiana-Pacific Pulp Mill site in Samoa.
County staff will also report on grant funding assessments with the EPA on over 30 parcels located between Orick to Redway.
Is the Bureau of Reclamation waiting too long to release water into the Trinity River?
