CR Board to consider transferring Fort Bragg campus to Mendocino College

EUREKA- College of the Redwoods Board of Trustees will consider moving forward with a plan that will keep the Fort Bragg instructional site open, but transfer the campus over to Mendocino College. The trustees will consider the recommendation made by CR President at the next board meeting on March 4th.

In the recommendation to the board prepared by CR President Kathy Smith, she recommends that the campus be adopted by the closer college district. In the report to the board Smith suggests that district start negotiating with Mendocino College to start offering classes at the site for the upcoming 2014-15 school years. In addition she recommends that the board move forward with a plan that moves the Fort Bragg site into Mendocino Colleges district permanently.

The response comes after community members spoke out against the potential closure at two separate meetings. The meeting will be held at the Eureka Main Campus on March 4th at 1 p.m.
