HUMBOLDT COUNTY-Local crab fishermen have been able to reach a deal after negotiating the price of crab for over a week. Crab will sell to wholesalers for $2.65 per pound, lower than what crabbers were asking for.
Crab season started on Dec. 1, but fishermen have been negotiating for the price to be set at $3.00. The deal was reached after the price for crab was set for $2.65, which crab fishermen said today gave them little to work with. Fishermen expect the price of crab to go up and the season to be average.
