CRESCENT CITY - Visitors to Crescent City Harbor will be seeing more improvements in the near future. The Harbor District is now preparing to extend their California Coastal Trail.

The Del Norte Local Transportation Commission granted the district over 370 thousand dollars to extend their current trail from Citizens Dock Road, continuing to Anchor Way, and ending at South Beach. It's being called the Starfish Way Segment, and it is now one of the top priority projects in the Region Transportation Plan.

Open job bids will begin in March and the District plans to have the trail complete before the end of summer.

The District says, bicyclists and pedestrians now have a safe way to access the harbor without having to go out on Highway 101.
