CRESCENT CITY - A man, wanted on a parole warrant out of Oregon, was arrested after assaulting a woman with a knife.
44 year-old Harvey Wangerin was riding in a vehicle with a woman when a verbal argument ensued. Wangerin stabbed the door of the vehicle with a folding knife and the female pulled over near the 300 block of highway 101 in Crescent City. He then made threats and held the knife against the woman’s leg. A struggle ensued and the victim received minor injuries.
She was evaluated by medical personnel on scene but not transported to the hospital. Wangerin was arrested for felony domestic battery, assault with a deadly weapon, and criminal threats.
