Crescent City man turns misdemeanor into felony

CRESCENT CITY - A Crescent City man turns his misdemeanor shoplifting into a felony robbery and is now in custody. Trinton Andrews allegedly walked out of Walmart with $23 worth of stolen items, including knives, Monday afternoon. He then took off in his vehicle, reportedly with an unsecured infant in the car.

Crescent City Police Officers caught up with him at his residence where they found the stolen knives under the child’s mattress. Andrews resisted arrest but officers eventually arrested him.

He is charged with robbery, obstructing an officer, and lack of child-seat restraint. Andrews also has a warrant from the Humboldt Superior Court for possessing a firearm.
