Crescent City Police Chief announces retirement

CRESCENT CITY- Crescent City Police Chief, Douglas Plack, has announced he will be retiring after over 10 years of heading the department.  
The recruitment process for Chief of Police is expected to take several months. In the meantime, City Manager Gene Palazzo has appointed Calvin Berry as the Interim Chief. According to the city staff report, Berry has 40-years experience working as a police officer in California. 
Chief Plack’s last day will be July 31st 2014.
